Hi, it's great to have you here and to see you're interested in FLXBL!

I'm Ingrid, the founder of FLXBL Yoga. I created the first FLXBL yoga mat in 2017, driven by my passion for yoga, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

Like many people, I was searching for a way to slow down and find balance amidst the demands of everyday life. Hot yoga became my favourite practice because of the warmth and intensity of the classes. However, the studio mats became extremely slippery from sweat, and sharing them never felt particularly hygienic. I tried using a yoga towel, but it constantly shifted and wrinkled during practice.

Eventually, I discovered microfiber yoga mats, and they immediately caught my attention. Since they weren't available in the Netherlands at the time, I decided to create one myself. That's how FLXBL was born.

When I brought the very first samples to class, I instantly noticed the difference. I no longer slipped in Downward-Facing Dog, and after class I could simply wash the mat. Before long, fellow yogi's started asking where they could buy one because they had experienced exactly the same frustrations. Hearing how much they loved the mat made me realise: this was an adventure worth pursuing.

Three years later, my brother Jasper joined FLXBL, and together we continued our mission to share the freedom, creativity, and strength that yoga brings.

A New Chapter for FLXBL

In 2026, FLXBL was acquired by Kim.

My connection with FLXBL actually started from personal experience. After undergoing surgery for a herniated disc, I began practising reformer Pilates—and quickly fell in love with it.

During my workouts, I noticed something interesting. At the gym, it's common practice to place a towel on almost every piece of equipment before using it. Yet on a reformer, most people don't use anything at all. Every day, dozens of people lie on the same machine, and during an intense class it's easy to work up quite a sweat. I found that perspiration caused me to lose grip during certain exercises, making movements feel less comfortable and stable.

That's when FLXBL crossed my path. I already knew the product and immediately recognised its potential as the perfect solution to this problem. When the opportunity arose to acquire the brand, it felt like the perfect fit: a product I genuinely believe in, combined with the opportunity to shape its future and bring my own vision to life.

My goal is to build on the strong foundation that Ingrid and Jasper created while expanding FLXBL beyond yoga into the growing world of Pilates. I see tremendous potential within reformer studios and boutique fitness spaces, where there is a clear need for a beautiful, hygienic, and functional top layer.

We're also developing new colours and products while building meaningful collaborations with studios, teachers, retreats, and like-minded brands within the yoga and Pilates community.

Our ambition is simple: to make FLXBL more than just a premium yoga mat. We want FLXBL to become a lifestyle brand that inspires movement, mindfulness, and wellbeing—supporting people wherever their yoga or Pilates journey takes them.
